Book Miscellany: Definitions and Decomposing

I found this discussion of what makes a novel realistic, contemporary or  historical fascinating. Although written in the context of YA lit, it applies equally well to adults.

This project is equally fascinating. A garden is built out of books, then left to decompose into the forest floor with some assistance of fungi and mould. It's extremely beautiful. As a booklover, I also find my gut reaction to it one of worry . . .

Finally for today, I discovered this video several months ago now but have returned to it several times and shared it with many. A poet expresses his attraction to 'A Girl Who Reads'. It's seriously worth a look.
